St Margaret Pattens

CCA are inspecting Architects at St Margaret Pattens, a Guild Church located in the heart of the City of London. Designed and built by Sir Christopher Wren between 1684 and 1689, the church is particularly noted for its striking, off-centre 200-foot timber and lead-clad spire - Wren’s third tallest, and the only one he designed in the medieval style.

Wren’s distinctive architectural language helped define the era, blending the Palladian principles of Inigo Jones with the emerging English Baroque, while occasionally drawing on Gothic influences.
